Individual Therapy and Family Consultations

I see psychotherapy as a relational process and catalyst for self-understanding and agency, helping people move toward a more fulfilling life. My orientation is psychodynamic, grounded in the belief that much of the trouble starts outside of consciousness. In therapy, we work together to bring these experiences into awareness and find new ways of coping with life’s challenges. This could mean working through trauma or difficulties stemming from the past, but just as often it entails addressing the here-and-now and coming to understand how the past is alive in the present. Everyone comes to treatment with a unique perspective and history, and I adapt this framework to each client’s needs, whether they be struggles of personal growth or practical questions of symptom relief.

In addition to individual therapy, I also work with families struggling with a loved one’s severe mental illness. When someone is experiencing extreme emotional distress, especially if it leads to psychiatric hospitalizations, it can cause an enormous amount of stress and confusion for parents and other family members. I offer short-term or as-needed consultations for parents and families to help them navigate care systems, provide psychoeducation about their loved one’s condition and treatment, and work on both practical problem solving and family dynamics. The goal is to alleviate stress, strengthen support, and improve outcomes for all involved.

Fees

I am in-network with Aetna, Carelon, Cigna, Oscar Health, Oxford, and United.

My base private pay fee is $200, but I do work on a sliding scale for those who qualify. I can prepare invoices to be submitted for out-of-network reimbursements.
